Water

The main water sources in the district include rivers and streams, hand dug wells, ponds/dams, spring water, bore holes and stand pipes. Generally, communities in the district at least have access to a public place of convenient. Safe water coverage in the district is 38% have access to water which is very devastating and has serious health implications for people in these communities. Issues concerning water should be a priority in the development programmes.

Without water the people in these communities rely on expensive tanker services to provide them with water or may resort to untreated water streams. Sanitation facilities in the district include latrines in some schools, KVIP, VIP, Traditional Pit and Pan/bucket. In the household, facilities include water closet, VIP, KVIPs, etc.
