Bodi District with its Administrative capital Bodi was carved from Juaboso and forms part of the new districts and municipalities created in the year 2012 and were inaugurated at their various locations simultaneously on the 28th June, 2012.

The District forms part of twenty two (22) Metropolitan, Municipalities and Districts in the Western Region of Ghana.

The District shares boundaries with Juabeso District to the north, to the south with Sefwi Akontombra District and Suaman District respectively, to the east with Sefwi Wiawso District and to the west with Ivory Coast.

The population of the district according to 2010 population and housing census stands at 53,314 with 27,111 males and 26,203 females.
