Due to the significant overflow of the Volta Lake, numerous homes surrounding the lake have been flooded, resulting in the displacement of many residents.

In a brief statement, the DCE mentioned that the affected communities include Nkonya Adzamansu, Kwamekrom, Nkonya Odomitor, Tapa, and Kogokrom. She emphasized that while rainfall is a natural phenomenon, when it causes such devastation, it is the responsibility of the central government to step in and support its citizens.

To address the situation, NADMO has intervened and provided relief items to those in need. The items distributed include sugar, sleeping mats, blankets, rice, mosquito coils, food seasonings, buckets, bowls, cups, clothing, and other essential supplies.

The distribution of these relief items was carried out with the assistance of various individuals, including Deputy Director General Mr. Dan Denteh, Oti Regional Director Mr. Edward Kumah, Biakoye District Director Mr. Henry Danso, Zonal Coordinators, and other NADMO staff members.
