ASUNAFO S: Sankore paramount chief warns political party supporters
The Paramount Chief of Sankore Traditional Area Okogyeaman Appiah Kubi IV has called on the District Chief Executive (DCE) for Asunafo South Mr Osei Bonsu Senior to clamp down on bloody activities of the two main Political Parties, the New Patriotic Party(NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Asunafo South District.

The Paramount Chief insisted that, the activities of such groups were illegal, stressing that this is a wake up call to the security agencies to ward off any violence in the area.

 

 

At a familiarization tour of the newly sworn in DCE to share his vision and listen to the plights of the people, Okogyeaman Appiah Kubi IV stressed the need for the DCE who also doubles as the Chairman of DISEC to spare no one, who creates chaos in the District.

"No matter which political divide you come from, if you breach the law the Police must use the full rigours of the law at their disposal to deal with you", he stated.

He continued, " I am urging you to go further beyond speaking to the Political Party thugs and adopt more proactive force of Policing the District, " he submitted.

Furthermore, Okogyeaman Appiah Kubi IV called on the Traditional Council, Opinion Leaders and Local Council of Churches to ensure that Asunafo South remains peaceful.

The Paramount Chief also cautioned his sub-chiefs who have forced themselves into politics to desist from that or face enstoolment. Most of these people he said hide behind some power drunk Politicians for their selfish interest which ultimately contribute to the detriment of the general populace.

The 2016 NPP Parliamentary Candidate for Asunafo South, Mr George Yaw Boakye who accompanied the DCE and his entourage was worried and concerned about the recent use of violence and intimidation in our body politics and blamed Nananom for causing that.

According to him the glowing phenomenon of political violence has led to deaths and destruction of several properties and has become a major threat to our country's democracy.

He urged chiefs to demonstrate their strength and influences by dialoguing and engaging others based on ideas and authority vested in them rather than pampering individuals or groups to insult and attack innocent souls.

 

 

On his part the DCE for Asunafo South Mr Osei Bonsu Senior, condemn all forms of violence, coercion and intimidation tactics deployed by some individuals within the various political parties to usurp governance structures and authority in the name of politics.

He observed that politics is all about influence and called on other politicians to convince people to follow them and do their bidding through ideologies and internal political structure as enshrined in our constitution.

He announced that his administration will deal ruthlessly with any one whose action or inaction may cause trouble or disturb the peace that the District is currently enjoying.
