Minister receives winners of World Robotics Festival
Students from Mamfe Methodist Girls Senior High School who participated in the World Robotics Festival in the United States in May 2019 and came first in the global competition have paid a courtesy call on the Minister of Education, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh.

Dr. Opoku Prempeh speaking at short ceremony held in his office in Accra said he was pleased to receive them; he congratulated them on their stunning success and indicated that girl-child education is something we need to take seriously, especially as women constitute about 52% of our population.
The minister assured them that government is putting in more measures to promote Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) subjects among girls, to ensure that they take up careers in these areas, given their under-representation.
Dr Opoku Prempeh again stated that he’s ‘’Particularly proud of the girls and look forward to other girls being inspired by their achievement to go on and win even higher laurels for themselves and for the nation at large. ‘’
The delegation was led by their headmistress, Mrs. Sylvia Isabella Laryea, some tutors and parents.
