Mr. William Hor made this passionate appeal in an interview with ghanadistricts.com, saying: "My appeal to my fellow parents in Afram Plains South is please take absolute ownership of these free SHS introduced by the Akufo Addo government, so that we can produce enough intellectuals towards the development of the area", the failed 2016 Parliamentary Candidate appealed.

He blames the low educational background of the youth in the area to the high poverty rate and the geographical nature of the area.

William Hor revealed that the only sources of income in Afram Plains are farming and fishing which one cannot survive with the little income they make if he intends to support a child or ward through the secondary education to the tertiary level.

He revealed that "basic, if you like Junior High School (JHS) is the highest education most youth in our communities which is not encouraging".

The First Ghana Savings and Loans Managing Director was quick to observe that "these are some of the reasons why this Free SHS policy is introduced and as the President always say, its objective is to make sure every Ghanaian child at least graduate with the Senior High Certificate".

Mr. William Hor then cautioned beneficiaries to take their lessons seriously.
