Birim Central Assembly elects Castro Asumadu Adaei as PM
Hon. Castro Asumadu Adaei, a government appointee in the Birim Central Municipal Assembly has been elected as the new Presiding Member.

The election was keenly contested among Hon. Emmanuel Appiah Kubi, Hon. Michael Asare Sakyi and Hon. Castro Asumadu Adaei but the 2 assembly members withdrew from the contest at some point.
In a ‘YES’ or ‘NO’ ballot, 26 members out of the 19 valid votes cast voted "Yes" to confirm Hon. Castro Asumadu Adaei as the Presiding Member while 7 voted NO.
The newly elected presiding member was sworn in by Her Lady, Akim Oda, District Court who took him through the Oaths of Secrecy and Allegiance.
