Bibiani Ahwiaso B: Youth urged to develop passion for skill training programmes
The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Bibiani Ahwiaso Bekwai municipality, Mr Afred Amoah, has urged youth in his area to develop passion for skill training programmes to help them become successful in life.

He refuted claims that, formal education was the only way that one can become successful in life, adding that most successful businessmen in Ghana were without any formal education or qualifications hence; such claims were not true and must be disregarded.

“Most of the youth think that only education that can let them to become successful in future, due to that they are reluctant to get into any training center to acquire knowledge to do something for their living.

He made this known when he presented ten training equipment to ten (10) participants who are currently undergoing skill training under the Rural Enterprise programme (REP).

The MCE, who was addressing the crowd gathered, used the occasion to call on the youth to take part in skill training initiatives such as the Rural Enterprise programme which is set up by government to support them.

He added that the Rural Technology Facility under the program is to train the youth for three years which is technical Apprentice Training in metal machining and welding fabrication to become successful in future.

He also ceased the opportunity to urge the youth to take part in the program since participants will undergo manufacturing and repair of Agro processing equipment, Palm oil processing equipment which will given to them freely after the period of their apprenticeship to help set up their own business.
