30 women trained in soap making
About thirty women at Sikabsa in Kanjarga in the Builsa South District in the Upper East District who have received skills in soap training to make them self-reliance has pass out.

The training which was under the auspices of the Builsa South District Business Advisory Centre (BAC) was supported by the Japanese Social Development Fund (JSDF), and focused mainly on value addition to some raw materials.

The District Chief Executive, Daniel Kwame Gariba addressing the beneficiaries noted that the training is in line with measures to empower the locals to ensure best practices, and add value to their business in order to expand and derive the best from their toils.


According to him, poverty reduction is a core focus of the current administration, and was particularly delighted that women are integral part of the society, and empowering them economically means improvement in the livelihood of the entire family.


The DCE also disclosed that, beneficiaries would be assisted with loans from MASLOC to be able to put into practice the skills they have acquired and advised that such financial assistance should strictly be channeled into their business so that they can be dependent on their own..
