The construction of the market stalls became necessary as a result of the challenges the traders in these markets were facing. Most of the traders displayed their wares on the ground and on temporal tables in the sun, and during the rainy season they find it difficult to brave the situation.

In order for the traders to get good environmental conditions for them to engage in their trading activities effectively, and to improve on the revenue generation of the assembly, it became necessary for the assembly to construct the market stalls for the traders in these two communities.

The two pavilions were constructed through the district’s share of the royalties from the Stool Lands. The New Edubiase market stalls cost the assembly an amount of GH?70,000.00, while that of Akrofuom is GH?88,000.00.

Inspecting the projects the District Chief Executive Hon. Francis Kwabena Ankomah, Mr. William Meledi the District Coordinating Director, Mr. Tabri Bonsu the District Engineer and Mr. Rutherford Osei the Planning Officer expressed their satisfaction for the work done and expressed their hope that the traders will make good use of the facilities.
