Rainstorm destroys Chiraa Methodist School Block B JHS, KG block

The roofs of classroom blocks belonging to Chiraa Methodist B Junior High School and KG in the Sunyani West Municipality have been destroyed by a rainstorm.

Strong winds accompanied the rains resulting in the roof of the JHS and the KG block being ripped

Mr. Romeo Ofosuhene, the Head Teacher of the school lamented that the situation has greatly affected teaching learning, a situation which needs to be addressed before school re-open for the next term.

The students are currently writing their examination and are preparing for vacation but the situation has forced the school authorities to merge the classes to enable the students to have their examination.

According to him the Head Teacher, the Methodist B JHS Block is the oldest school in Chiraa.

The Municipal Chief Executive, Mr. Evans Kusi Boadum with some officers of the Municipal Assembly who visited the school to assess the extent of the damage said a report will be put together to seek help in putting the school back in good shape.

The Chief Executive assured the teachers he will ensure the block is re-roofed to restore teaching and learning in the school before schools reopen.
