DAFFIAMA: Assembly to get CHPS centres for Pulpaa

Daffiama Bussie Issa District Assembly in the Upper West Region is making good its resolve to increase health facilities in the district with the construction of more community-based health planning and service (CHPS) centres.

This follows the realization of the negative effects of people in deprive communities in particular travelling long distances to access health delivery which sometimes results in deaths.

The absence of health facilities also compelled most individuals to resort to other means of health delivery that may rather complicate their conditions.

As such communities including Pulpaa have thus been built the CHPs centres to help provide primary health care to residents in the beneficiary communities.

The facilities will also provide critical services to particularly pregnant women and nursing mothers to help in the fight against maternal and neonatal mortality as the country continues to work towards bringing maternal mortality to its barest minimal in order to achieve the MDG 4&5.
