He said the partnership should prioritise financing for local businesses, young entrepreneurs and farmers to stimulate enterprise growth, create jobs and strengthen the municipality’s economic base.
Mr Dagba made the call when he served as Guest Speaker at the 43rd Annual General Meeting of Avenor Community Bank in Akatsi on Sunday.
He noted that although Akatsi South had significant agricultural and commercial potential, many residents continued to face challenges accessing affordable credit, decent employment opportunities and essential infrastructure.
Mr Dagba therefore urged the bank to collaborate with the Assembly to identify credible, well-structured and bankable businesses and entrepreneurs whose ventures could benefit from appropriate financing.
According to him, such collaboration would help unlock business growth, create employment opportunities and strengthen the local economy.
He identified agriculture as another key area for collaboration and urged the bank to expand access to credit for farmers to enable them to finance inputs, mechanisation, storage, processing and marketing.
He said improved access to financing would help transform farming from subsistence production into a more profitable and value-driven sector, leading to increased incomes for farmers.
Mr Dagba further indicated that the Assembly was ready to work closely with the bank to ensure that financial interventions translated into measurable development outcomes across communities.
He described Avenor Community Bank as a strategic development partner rather than merely a financial institution, stressing that its role should extend to improving livelihoods, supporting businesses and creating opportunities for residents.
Mr Dagba assured the bank’s Board and Management of the Assembly’s commitment to strengthening collaboration to empower young people, promote agricultural development and address the socio-economic needs of residents in the municipality.
