The meeting provided an opportunity for the various sub-committees of the Assembly to present reports on their recent deliberations and make recommendations for consideration at the next General Assembly meeting. The recommendations are expected to serve as working documents to guide the Assembly’s decisions and development activities.

The District Chief Executive (DCE) and Chairman of the Executive Committee, Hon. Gariba Mustapha Mohammed, welcomed members to the meeting and expressed appreciation for their commitment to the Assembly’s work.

The members comprised convenors of the various sub-committees as well as Heads of Decentralised Departments and Units of the Assembly.

Hon. Gariba urged members not to relent in their responsibility of promoting development in their respective electoral areas and the district as a whole.

The Justice and Security, Social Services, Works, Development Planning, Agriculture, Mining and Anti-Galamsey, and Finance and Administration Sub-Committees took turns to present their reports and recommendations on challenges identified in their respective areas of operation.

The Executive Committee is expected to consider the recommendations and forward relevant proposals to the General Assembly for further deliberation and adoption
