This issue has become a significant worry for the community, as it directly impacts mobility and access to essential services.

He highlighted that the poor condition of the roads has left the area vulnerable to thick dust, which he claims has led to an increase in pneumonia cases among residents.

“As we speak, there isn’t a single meter of coal tar road in Garu, and the cases of pneumonia have risen due to the dust”, he stated.

The DCE pointed out that residents have been calling for government intervention for some time to address this pressing issue.

Consequently, he urged the government to include the Garu road project in the 2026 budget to help improve the situation.
