LGS Head Calls for Greater Discipline and Commitment at Akuapim South Assembly
The Head of the Local Government Service (LGS), Prof. Lord Kwaku Mensah, has called for greater punctuality, professionalism and commitment to duty among staff of the Akuapim South Municipal Assembly.

Prof. Mensah made the call during an unannounced visit to the Akuapim South Municipal Assembly, where he interacted with staff and assessed their attendance and commitment to work.
Speaking to the media after the visit, the LGS Head stressed that staff discipline and regular attendance were essential to ensuring effective public service delivery and contributing meaningfully to Ghana’s development.
He expressed concern about the level of attendance observed during the visit, noting that appropriate measures would be taken to address the situation.
“If we cannot show up, we cannot deliver,” Prof. Mensah stated, urging staff to be punctual and execute their duties as expected.
He further encouraged employees to demonstrate professionalism and dedication to their responsibilities, emphasizing that effective local governance depends heavily on committed and responsive public servants.

The visit forms part of efforts to promote discipline, accountability, professionalism and improved performance within Ghana’s Local Government Service.
Prof. Mensah’s intervention is expected to reinforce the importance of staff presence and commitment at the local level, ultimately supporting better service delivery to residents of the Akuapim South Municipality.
