During the visit, the MCE commended school authorities, teachers, pupils, and supervisors for their commitment and enthusiasm in ensuring that school compounds and surrounding areas were kept clean.
The MCE expressed satisfaction with the level of participation, noting that the involvement of schools in the exercise demonstrates the importance of instilling good sanitation practices among young people.
The Volta North Police Command, sanitation agencies, and residents were also applauded for their role in leading the municipality-wide sanitation exercise, which forms part of the Government of Ghana’s post-flood recovery efforts aimed at improving environmental cleanliness and protecting public health.
The MCE further recognized the contributions of SSNIT Hohoe staff, the Ghana Education Service, Zoomlion, MuSAP, sanitation officers, and other stakeholders whose collective efforts helped ensure the success of the exercise.
Ahead of the second phase of the National General Cleaning Exercise, the MCE called on residents, traders, businesses, institutions, and community groups to actively participate and work together to make Hohoe a model of environmental responsibility.
The MCE emphasized that maintaining a clean Hohoe requires the commitment and involvement of every resident.
