The exercise formed part of the government's national sanitation campaign, which seeks to encourage communities to take collective responsibility for keeping their surroundings clean and preventing the outbreak of sanitation-related diseases.
Staff of the Assembly, community members, and other stakeholders participated in the clean-up, clearing choked drains, desilting gutters, sweeping streets, and removing refuse from public spaces across the district.
Speaking during the exercise, District Chief Executive Sandra Seyram Kpedor underscored the importance of maintaining clean environments, stressing that good sanitation is essential to protecting public health and reducing the risk of disease outbreaks. She also encouraged residents to make cleanliness a daily habit rather than limiting it to organized clean-up campaigns.
The Anloga District Assembly reaffirmed its commitment to promoting environmental cleanliness and called on all residents to support ongoing efforts to create a healthier and safer district for all.
