Ningo-Prampram Assembly Reviews Development Projects and Strengthens Local Governance

The Ningo-Prampram District Assembly has reaffirmed its commitment to effective local governance after reviewing major development projects, Area Council performance and governance reforms during its statutory General Assembly Meeting.

District Chief Executive, Hon. Raphael Uriel Nartey, briefed Assembly Members on the validation of Coastal Development Authority (CODA) projects across the district, outlining defects identified during inspections and measures being implemented to ensure the necessary corrective works and value for public investment.

He also presented updates on activities undertaken in the areas of Social Welfare and Community Development, Agriculture, Sanitation and Disaster Management, highlighting achievements, ongoing interventions and challenges requiring stakeholder collaboration.

The meeting featured presentations from the various Area Councils on local governance activities, revenue mobilisation, development needs and community challenges. Assembly Members discussed the reports extensively and proposed practical solutions to improve service delivery at the local level.

The House further considered draft bye-laws submitted by the Justice and Security Committee to strengthen local regulations, improve sanitation enforcement and enhance public safety throughout the district.

The deliberations underscored the Assembly's commitment to transparent governance, accountability and responsive development planning aimed at improving the quality of life of residents across the Ningo-Prampram District.
