The initiative forms part of the Assembly's efforts to promote economic empowerment and improve the livelihoods of Persons with Disabilities by providing them with the resources needed to establish or expand income-generating activities.

The donation, which is the second disbursement of its kind this year, aligns with the government's social protection agenda under President John Dramani Mahama's Reset Agenda, aimed at reducing economic hardship among vulnerable groups.

Presenting the items, the Assembly noted that the intervention is designed to empower beneficiaries to become economically active, improve their standard of living and contribute meaningfully to the socio-economic development of the municipality and the country.

The beneficiaries received a combination of essential livelihood support items and cash assistance to help them pursue sustainable economic activities and enhance their financial independence.

The Tarkwa Nsuaem Municipal Assembly reaffirmed its commitment to promoting inclusive development and supporting vulnerable members of society through targeted empowerment programmes.

The Assembly also indicated that, in collaboration with its development partners, it would continue to replicate and expand the Livelihood Empowerment Programme to reach more Persons with Disabilities across the municipality and improve their socio-economic well-being.
