Previously, residents had to travel to Techiman or Kintampo to register vehicles, obtain driver's licenses, or access other DVLA services. The new facility brings these essential services closer to the community.

CEO Warns Against "Goro Boys" Operations

Mr. Julius NeeQuaye Kotey, Chief Executive Officer of DVLA, officially commissioned the office on Tuesday. He assured traditional leaders, clergy, and the public that the new office would offer the full range of services available at any DVLA office nationwide.

"Our doors are open to the public for all services," Mr. Kotey stated. However, he issued a stern warning: "I will not entertain any 'goro boys' (middlemen) operating in our premises. I advise the general public to come directly to the office for any services they need."

The CEO also introduced Mr. Ibrahim Bamba as the facility's manager, cautioning him to prevent unauthorized intermediaries from conducting business at the new office.

MP Applauds DVLA Leadership

Hon. Emmanuel Kwadwo Agyekum, Member of Parliament for Nkoranza South and Minister of State in charge of Special Initiatives, expressed profound gratitude to the DVLA CEO and his deputies for their support in establishing the facility.

"DVLA has never had such a dynamic chief executive officer like Mr. Julius NeeQuaye Kotey," Hon. Agyekum said. "The innovative strategies he is bringing to project the institution nationwide are amazing. May God continue to bless him."

He advised drivers and vehicle owners in Nkoranza to patronize the new office rather than seeking services elsewhere.

Government Development Agenda Highlighted

The MP also acknowledged the First Lady of Ghana, Madam Lordina Mahama, for her continued support in seeking development for Nkoranza. He noted that under the NDC government's leadership, many projects have been commissioned, with others yet to begin.
"Almost 89 percent of Nkoranza's developmental projects were initiated by the NDC government," Hon. Agyekum stated. He also assured residents that the Nkoranza-Techiman road will be reconstructed in 2027.

Regional Minister Appeals for Land

Hon. Francis Owusu Antwi, Bono East Regional Minister, thanked Nana Kwame Baffoe IV (Nkoranza Manhene), the MP, Regional NDC Chairman Owusu Unas (Chairma Unasco), and other dignitaries present at the event.

He made a heartfelt appeal to traditional leaders to release land for the construction of a permanent office building for DVLA in Nkoranza. He also commended DVLA officers for educating citizens on the new number plates being rolled out.

Traditional Leaders Pledge Land Support

A representative of Nana Kwame Baffoe IV, who served as Chairman of the occasion, thanked the Regional Minister, DVLA CEO, MP, and all dignitaries for their support. He urged officials and participants to always respect time in their organizations.

The representative assured the Regional Minister that traditional leaders would provide land for the construction of a permanent DVLA office in the municipality.
