The training programme, organised by the Assembly's Human Resource Department in collaboration with the Western Regional Coordinating Council (WRCC), focused on improving staff understanding of the legal and institutional frameworks that guide local governance and public administration.

Key areas covered during the training included the Local Governance Act, the structure of the Municipal Assembly, Performance Management and the protocols of the Local Government Service (LGS). The programme provided participants with an opportunity to deepen their understanding of the roles, responsibilities and procedures governing the operations of the Local Government Service. It also sought to equip staff with the necessary knowledge to perform their duties in accordance with established administrative standards.

Particular attention was given to the Assembly's institutional structure and the importance of understanding the various departments, reporting relationships and administrative responsibilities within the local government system.

The training also highlighted the relevance of performance management in promoting accountability, monitoring staff productivity and ensuring that institutional objectives are achieved.

Through the sessions, participants were encouraged to appreciate the importance of professional conduct, adherence to service protocols and effective coordination in the execution of their responsibilities. The initiative forms part of the Prestea Huni Valley Municipal Assembly's broader commitment to continuous staff development and institutional strengthening.

By investing in the capacity of its workforce, the Assembly aims to improve administrative efficiency, promote professionalism and enhance the quality of services delivered to residents.

The programme further underscores the importance of equipping local government personnel with the knowledge and skills required to support effective decentralisation and responsive local governance.
