The Assembly was adjudged the best-performing among the six Assemblies that had presented their budgets at the hearing so far.

The District Coordinating Director, Alhaji Mohammed Shaibu, presented the Assembly’s profile, while the District Budget Analyst, Mr Daniel Ntiri-Nyame, presented the financial estimates for 2027.

The assessment team commended the Assembly for its performance in basic rate collection, compensation management, mobilisation of Internally Generated Funds (IGF), key development achievements and efforts towards reducing open defecation, which was reported at five per cent.

Despite the positive assessment, the team urged the Assembly to intensify efforts to improve revenue mobilisation, particularly through stool land revenue collection and property rates.

It also called for a comprehensive valuation of properties across the district to strengthen property rate collection and enhance the Assembly’s internally generated revenue.

The assessment team further encouraged all Assemblies to accelerate the development of 24-Hour Economy Markets to stimulate local businesses, create employment opportunities and boost economic activities.

The commendation is expected to motivate the Atwima Kwanwoma District Assembly to consolidate its achievements, address the gaps identified and improve its performance in local governance and financial management.
