The inspection forms part of efforts by the two assemblies to improve road infrastructure and enhance transportation safety and accessibility for residents and commuters. The Hansonic Junction corridor has over the years faced several challenges, including poor drainage systems and deteriorating road surfaces, causing difficulties for both motorists and pedestrians.
During the visit, the two MCEs assessed the current state of the road, identified sections requiring urgent attention, and discussed practical measures for a coordinated intervention to address the challenges and improve the overall condition of the corridor.
Speaking after the inspection, the municipal authorities reaffirmed their commitment to collaborating on infrastructure development projects aimed at ensuring safer and more efficient movement within the area.
Following the road assessment, Mr. Nkansah visited a number of communities and households within the Ablekuma Central Municipality that were severely affected by the recent heavy rains.
The MCE interacted with affected residents, evaluated the extent of damage caused by the flooding, and assured victims of the assembly’s commitment to working closely with relevant agencies to provide support and implement long-term solutions to mitigate future occurrences.
He reiterated that the municipality remains focused on addressing infrastructure deficits, improving drainage networks, and enhancing the welfare and safety of residents.
According to Mr. Nkansah, efforts will continue to build a stronger, safer, and more resilient Ablekuma Central Municipality for all residents.
