.
Speaking during the exercise, the Municipal Chief Executive emphasized the need for residents to support the Assembly’s sanitation efforts by maintaining cleanliness in their homes, shops, and immediate surroundings. He noted that sanitation remains a shared responsibility that requires the active participation of every member of the community.
The Assembly further cautioned residents against indiscriminate dumping of refuse and poor sanitation practices, warning that offenders who fail to comply with sanitation by-laws would face fines or possible prosecution.
Residents were also encouraged to actively participate in future clean-up exercises by closing their shops and dedicating time to cleaning their surroundings and frontages.
LaDMA noted that the sanitation initiatives form part of broader efforts to reduce disease outbreaks, tackle environmental pollution, and discourage the burning of waste.
