New Juaben South Assembly Partners GAYO to Tackle Sanitation and Climate Challenges

The Assembly officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Green Africa Youth Organization (GAYO) to strengthen collaboration in sanitation management and enhance local responses to the growing climate crisis within the municipality.

The partnership reflects a shared commitment between the Assembly and GAYO to promote environmental sustainability and improve sanitation conditions across communities in Koforidua and its surrounding areas.

Speaking during the engagement, stakeholders emphasized the importance of strategic partnerships between local government authorities and development-oriented organizations in tackling environmental and sanitation challenges. They noted that collective action remains essential in achieving sustainable development goals and improving public health.

Under the agreement, GAYO is expected to contribute its expertise in environmental sustainability, climate advocacy, and youth-led initiatives to support and complement the Assembly’s ongoing efforts in sanitation and environmental management.

Officials of the Assembly described the partnership as a significant milestone that demonstrates a renewed commitment to implementing practical and long-term solutions to sanitation and environmental health concerns within the municipality.

The collaboration is expected to drive impactful interventions and strengthen climate resilience while promoting cleaner and healthier communities across the New Juaben South Municipality.
