The exercise forms part of the Assembly’s ongoing commitment to promoting a cleaner, healthier, and more organized trading environment for residents, as well as market women and men who depend on the facility for their livelihoods.
The removal of the long-standing dumpsite is expected to address persistent environmental and sanitation challenges that have affected trading activities in the area. It also aims to restore public confidence and reinforce the Assembly’s vision of transforming Kasoa into a more attractive and business-friendly municipality.
Speaking on the initiative, Hon. Banini emphasized that the intervention is a crucial step toward the realization of the government’s 24-Hour Economic Market Development initiative. According to him, the project seeks to modernize the Kasoa New Market into a vibrant commercial hub capable of supporting round-the-clock economic activities.
He noted that the progress made through the evacuation exercise is laying a solid foundation for increased trade, job creation, and sustainable economic growth within the municipality.
The MCE commended sanitation workers, stakeholders, and all individuals who contributed to the success of the exercise, highlighting their dedication and cooperation throughout the process.
He further urged residents and traders to support the Assembly’s efforts by maintaining cleanliness and embracing the opportunities that come with the ongoing development initiatives.
The Assembly remains committed to implementing policies and projects that will enhance sanitation, boost economic activity, and improve the overall quality of life for the people of Awutu Senya East.
