According to the MCE, the situation is a result of delays in waste collection caused by operational challenges at the Waste Landfill Company the facility responsible for receiving and managing refuse from waste collectors.

He disclosed that the landfill site has been closed for nearly two weeks, leading to a temporary disruption in waste disposal services.

The development has not only affected Nsawam Adoagyiri but also other municipalities and institutions that rely on the same landfill facility.

Hon. Amenorpe acknowledged the impact of the situation on the environment and residents, and assured the public that resolving the challenge remains his top priority. He noted that he is actively engaging relevant stakeholders to restore normal waste collection services as soon as possible.

He further expressed his sincere apologies to residents for the inconvenience caused and appealed for patience as efforts are underway to address the situation
