Dada Community Appeals for Support to Rehabilitate Dilapidated Public Toilet
Date Created : 7/28/2026 : Story Author : Susana Danso/Ghanadistricts.com
According to residents, the facility has deteriorated significantly over the years and is now in a deplorable condition, posing serious health and environmental risks to the community. They say the poor state of the toilet has made it unsafe and almost unusable, creating an urgent need for intervention to improve sanitation and public health.
As part of efforts to address the challenge, the community is inviting private investors, organisations, and philanthropists to partner in renovating, operating, and managing the facility under a Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) or profit-sharing arrangement. Under this model, an investor would rehabilitate the facility, manage it for an agreed period to recover the investment and earn a reasonable return, before transferring ownership back to the community.
Residents are also calling on the Sene West District Assembly, government agencies, NGOs, charitable organisations, and development partners to provide financial and technical support towards the rehabilitation project as part of broader efforts to improve sanitation and promote healthy living conditions.
The community believes that restoring the public toilet will not only improve hygiene and environmental sanitation but also help prevent disease outbreaks, safeguard public health, and restore dignity to residents of Dada Community
