Dome-Kwabenya MP Delivers First SOCA, Highlights Education, Roads, and Sanitation Projects
Elikplim Akurugu, the Member of Parliament for Dome-Kwabenya, has delivered her inaugural State of the Constituency Address (SOCA), outlining key development projects and pledging a commitment to transparency.

In her first address since taking office, Akurugu detailed progress across several sectors, including education, healthcare, infrastructure, sanitation, and youth empowerment.
"Leadership must remain accountable to the people," she stated, emphasizing the importance of public officials reporting on their performance in a democratic system.

Key Initiatives and Projects
During her address, the MP highlighted several tangible interventions, including:
· Education: The distribution of over 1,400 mathematical sets to candidates preparing for the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).
· Healthcare: Support provided to local health facilities to improve service delivery.
· Infrastructure: Ongoing road construction works aimed at easing transportation within the constituency.
· Energy: The implementation of the “Light Up the Constituency” project to improve street lighting and security.

The event also featured remarks from the Municipal Chief Executive for the Ga East Municipal Assembly (GEMA), Edmund Agboh, who stressed the need for people-centered leadership.
"Governance must align with the needs and expectations of citizens," Agboh said.
Both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to accelerating development efforts and improving the standard of living for residents in the Dome-Kwabenya constituency.
