Completed in under five months, the project is expected to deliver clean and safe drinking water to residents of Anyako, Konu, Seva, and surrounding communities. The facility comprises a pump house, a portable water treatment unit, transmission pipelines, and an extensive distribution network designed to supply water to households and public standpipes.

Speaking at the commissioning ceremony, Hon. Adjei stated that the project forms part of the government’s broader “Big Push” infrastructure agenda, which focuses on strengthening critical sectors such as water, health, education, roads, and agriculture. He added that the system is equipped with smart taps and a solar hybrid power system to promote efficiency, accountability, and long-term sustainability.

The Volta Regional Minister, James Gunu, described the initiative as a significant step toward improving access to potable water in the region. He called on both authorities and community members to ensure proper maintenance of the facility.

Traditional and political leaders, including Togbi Badu IV, Chairman of the occasion, Kwame Dzudzorli Gakpey, Wisdom Seade, and Vincent Kuagbenu, welcomed the project and expressed gratitude to the government for addressing the longstanding water challenges in the area.

The project is expected to significantly improve public health, reduce the prevalence of water-borne diseases, and enhance the overall living conditions of beneficiary communities.
