The Municipal Chief Executive, Abdul Samed Hamza, has successfully secured land for the installation of internet infrastructure in the communities of Danbado, Lumpe, Gmaribuhu, Kanjanayili, and Prugmando.
The initiative forms part of efforts to bridge the digital divide and ensure that even the most remote areas in the municipality are not left behind in Ghana’s digital transformation agenda.
With support from GIFEC, the project is expected to significantly improve access to information, enhance education, and create new economic opportunities for residents. Students, businesses, and local institutions in the beneficiary communities are particularly expected to benefit from reliable internet services.
Hon. Hamza reaffirmed the Assembly’s commitment to expanding connectivity across the municipality, emphasizing that access to the internet is no longer a luxury but a necessity for development.
The move has been widely welcomed by residents, who see it as a major step toward inclusion in the digital economy and improved quality of life.
As implementation begins, attention now turns to how quickly the infrastructure will be rolled out to transform these communities into digitally connected hubs.
