The Effutu Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Hon. Rev. Atta Mensah, has donated two 10,000-litre capacity polytanks to the Winneba Technical Institute (WINNETECH) to improve water storage, sanitation and hygiene on campus.

The donation, made on behalf of the Effutu Municipal Assembly, took place during the school's Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) meeting on Friday, October 30, 2026, in Winneba.
Addressing students and other stakeholders, Rev. Atta Mensah emphasised the importance of sanitation, personal hygiene and punctuality, describing them as essential values for responsible citizenship and future leadership.
He urged students to take personal and environmental hygiene seriously, stressing that maintaining a clean and healthy school environment was a shared responsibility.
The MCE also encouraged students to cultivate punctuality, discipline and respect for time, noting that these qualities were important for personal development, professional excellence and responsible leadership.
He further explained that education should go beyond academic knowledge and vocational skills to include character formation and the development of positive attitudes. He therefore urged students to practise good sanitation and punctuality consistently, rather than only when instructed by school authorities.
Receiving the donation on behalf of the institution, the Principal of Winneba Technical Institute, Mr. Martin Ekow Young, together with members of the teaching staff, expressed appreciation to the MCE and the Assembly for the support.
They noted that the polytanks would help address the school's water storage needs and improve water availability for sanitation and hygiene management.
The two tanks have a combined storage capacity of 20,000 litres and are expected to contribute to a cleaner and healthier learning environment.
The intervention forms part of the Effutu Municipal Assembly's efforts to support educational institutions with essential infrastructure while promoting discipline, good character and responsible citizenship among students.
