The presentation was made, by the District Chief Executive Isaac Yawson, to persons with visual impairments and physical disabilities. A total of ten beneficiaries received financial assistance, with each person receiving GH¢3,000 to support their trading activities and other income-generating ventures.

Speaking at the presentation ceremony, the DCE reaffirmed the Assembly's commitment to improving the welfare of vulnerable groups and ensuring that persons with disabilities have opportunities to become financially independent.

He explained that the support was intended to help beneficiaries establish or expand small-scale businesses, improve their sources of income and contribute meaningfully to the economic development of their communities. Mr. Yawson encouraged the beneficiaries to use the money for its intended purpose by investing in viable business activities. He urged them to manage the funds responsibly to ensure that the assistance would have a lasting impact on their livelihoods.

The presentation ceremony brought together the beneficiaries, community leaders and other stakeholders who witnessed the financial support provided by the Assembly.

On their part, the beneficiaries expressed appreciation to the DCE and the District Assembly for the intervention. They described the assistance as timely and useful, noting that it would help them strengthen their businesses, meet personal needs and improve their standard of living.

Some of the beneficiaries also appealed for the continuation of similar interventions to extend support to other persons with disabilities who require assistance to establish sustainable livelihoods.

The initiative forms part of the Assembly's broader commitment to social inclusion, poverty reduction and the empowerment of vulnerable members of society.
