The projects, which form part of the Assembly’s commitment to improving basic social amenities and addressing infrastructure gaps in communities, cover key areas of education, sanitation and water supply.
The commissioned projects include newly constructed three-unit classroom blocks with offices and stores at Emena and Aprade, a three-unit Kindergarten block at Weweso, and the refurbishment of a six-unit classroom block at Kotei.
other projects are a newly constructed nine-seater toilet facility at Oforikrom and a borehole facility at Bomso to improve access to safe and potable drinking water.
educational infrastructure is expected to provide a more conducive environment for teaching and learning, enhance classroom accommodation and improve the overall educational experience of pupils and teachers in the beneficiary communities.
Similarly, the construction of the toilet facility is expected to promote proper sanitation and hygiene, while the borehole will help address water accessibility challenges and improve the wellbeing of residents.
Speaking during the commissioning ceremonies, the MCE, Hon. Anwel Sadat Ahmed, reaffirmed the Assembly’s commitment to implementing development initiatives that respond to the needs of communities and improve the living conditions of residents.
He called on beneficiaries, school authorities and community members to take ownership of the facilities and ensure their proper maintenance to guarantee their sustainability and long-term benefits.
The commissioning ceremonies were attended by the Municipal Engineer and Acting Coordinating Director, Mr. Edward Kwasi Anyam; Assembly Members; representatives of the Municipal Director of Education; and staff of the Oforikrom Municipal Assembly.
The projects form part of broader efforts by the Assembly to expand access to essential social infrastructure and promote sustainable development across the municipality.
