According to residents, the poor road network is seriously affecting transportation, business activities, and the daily movement of people, particularly during rainy conditions when sections of the roads become muddy and difficult to access.
Motorists and pedestrians say the worsening condition of the roads continues to pose safety risks and create challenges for commuters, traders, and commercial drivers operating in the area.
Some residents expressed concern that the situation is negatively impacting economic activities and increasing the cost and time involved in transportation within the community.
Community members are therefore appealing to the appropriate authorities to prioritize rehabilitation works and improve the road infrastructure to ease movement and enhance accessibility for residents and businesses.
Residents believe that timely intervention would not only improve transportation but also support socio-economic development within Akonta Junction and surrounding communities.
