MCE visits BECE centres

The Municipal Chief Executive of Tano South, Emmanuel Kwame Frimpong, has paid a visit to various Basic Certificate Examination (BECE) Centres across the Municipality to interact with candidates, invigilators and supervisors.

The centres include; Bechem, Derma and Techimantia.

In all, about 1835 candidates sat for the examination in the Tano South Municipality.

Out of the total number, 925 of the candidates are boys while 910 are girls, drawn from various public and private schools.

In his advice to the candidates, the MCE charged them to avoid examination malpractices and any other wrong doings that could lead to the cancellation of their papers. He added that candidates must study hard and make adequate preparation before they sit for each paper. '

He also encouraged the candidates not to panic since the questions they will be facing are things they have been taught in school by their teachers.

On his part, the Member of Parliament for Tano South Constituency, Charles Aseidu at the centres, urged candidates to avoid malpractices that will go a long way to jeopardize their bright future.  

He therefore urged candidates to obey instructions from invigilators and perform to the best of their abilities.

Tano South Municipal Director of Education, Mrs. Agnes Amihere in speech underscored the importance of the BECE, stressing that the examinations were organized nationwide by the West African Examination Council helps to transform the life of candidates into different stages and also prepare them to enter into the Senior High School.
