Ga East Municipal Assembly Inspects Education and Health Infrastructure Projects in Abokobi

The Ga East Municipal Assembly (GEMA) has inspected two major infrastructure projects in Abokobi, with a newly constructed classroom block completed ahead of schedule and work progressing steadily on a new health facility.

The inspection was led by the Municipal Works Engineer, Ing. Justin Glover, as part of the Assembly's routine monitoring of ongoing development projects to ensure quality execution, value for money and timely delivery of public infrastructure.

The team first visited the Abokobi Presbyterian M/A Basic School, where a newly constructed six-unit classroom block with ancillary facilities has been completed.

According to the contractor, Mr. Francis Fenuku, construction of the project commenced on February 16, 2026, with completion originally scheduled for August 16, 2026. However, the facility was completed on July 29, 2026, more than two weeks ahead of the contractual completion date.

The early completion is expected to provide pupils and teachers with a modern and conducive teaching and learning environment ahead of the next academic term while demonstrating the contractor's commitment to timely project delivery.

The inspection team subsequently visited the Abokobi Polyclinic, where construction is ongoing on a new Clinical Services and Out-Patients Department (OPD) Block.

During the visit, Ing. Justin Glover assessed the progress of work and engaged the contractor on the pace of construction, compliance with approved specifications and measures being implemented to ensure high-quality standards throughout the project.

When completed, the new Clinical Services and OPD Block is expected to strengthen healthcare delivery in Abokobi by expanding access to clinical and outpatient services and reducing pressure on the existing health infrastructure.

The Ga East Municipal Assembly reaffirmed its commitment to closely monitoring all development projects to ensure they are delivered on schedule, meet the required quality standards and provide lasting benefits to residents across the municipality.
