The exercise, held on Sunday, September 6, 2026, followed an earlier cleanup activity in Fadama, with the MCE and his team moving to Nii Boi Town Junction to continue the sanitation drive.
The team undertook intensive street sweeping and waste clearing along the major highway stretch, focusing on keeping the municipality’s major transit routes clean, safe, and accessible to motorists and pedestrians.
Speaking during the exercise, Hon. Christian Tetteh Badger reaffirmed the Assembly’s commitment to maintaining a clean and healthy environment across Okaikwei North.
“Our commitment to a clean Okaikwei North is unwavering. We will continue to work tirelessly, community by community, to ensure our municipality remains healthy, safe, and beautiful for all,” he said.
The MCE’s continued participation in community cleanup exercises forms part of efforts to encourage residents to take greater responsibility for environmental cleanliness and sanitation.
The Assembly is expected to sustain such exercises across communities in the municipality as it works towards setting a higher standard for environmental cleanliness.
