"No Chance, No Mercy" – Atebubu Amantin Education Directorate Vows to End BECE Malpractice
As the 2026 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) continues across Ghana, the Atebubu Amantin Municipal Education Directorate has issued a stern warning against exam malpractice.

On day two of the national exam, Ghanadistricts.com monitored proceedings in the municipality and interviewed the Education Director, Mr. Isaac Budu.
According to the directorate, a total of 2,105 students were registered for the BECE from nine exam centers. These students come from 53 public schools and 33 private schools within the municipality. Of the registered candidates, 1,050 are female and 1,055 are male.
However, the directorate reported that 10 students were absent, including three nursing mothers and two pregnant candidates.
Zero Tolerance for Cheating.

Speaking to Ghanadistricts.com, Mr. Budu emphasized that the municipality is taking a hard line against exam malpractice this year.
"For about eight years now, exam malpractice has been a very big issue in our country, especially in the Atebubu Amantin municipality," he said. "This year, no chance, no mercy for those who deal in exam malpractice."
warned that no foreign materials would be allowed into any examination centre.
"Danger Day" Ahead
Mr. Budu noted that Wednesday’s paper is Integrated Science, while Thursday’s is Mathematics – which he described as a "danger day for monitoring."
He cautioned both teachers and students that anyone caught engaging in malpractice would face prosecution.
"Any teacher or student who is caught shall be jailed, so desist from the act," Mr. Budu warned.
