Funded from the 10 per cent District Common Fund (DCF) allocation, the exercise is part of the Assembly’s broader efforts to address furniture shortages and upgrade education infrastructure in public schools.

The items comprise 200 dual desks, 515 mono desks, and 10 sets of hexagonal chairs for kindergarten pupils.

Speaking at the presentation ceremony, the District Chief Executive (DCE), Mr. Caeser Ofosu Acheampong, said the furniture would be used to equip newly completed classroom blocks while easing the shortage of desks in the beneficiary schools.

He urged school authorities to ensure proper maintenance of the furniture and guard against damage and theft to prolong its lifespan.
