New Juaben South Assembly Hands Over 700 Mono Desks to 11 Schools

The New Juaben South Municipal Assembly has handed over 700 mono desks to 11 selected schools across the Municipality as part of efforts to address furniture shortages and improve the learning environment for pupils.

The beneficiary schools are AME Zion Primary A&B, Wesley Methodist Basic B, Bonya King of Glory, Densuano Basic M/A, Good Shepherd Korle Nkwanta, Trom Nyeredee M/A, RHS Presby Basic C, Adweso DA, Nyeredee Agavanya R/C, ADA Kyeremate Basic B and MAHD DEEN JHS.

In addition to the 700 mono desks, the schools received 20 teachers’ tables and chairs, 15 cupboards, 20 hexagonal chairs and 20 hexagonal tables for Kindergarten classrooms, 10 chairs for Headteachers and five swivel chairs for offices, among other educational furniture.

The intervention is aimed at providing schools with the basic resources required to create a more conducive environment for effective teaching and learning.

The Assembly noted that adequate furniture is essential to improving pupils’ comfort, participation and concentration in the classroom, while also supporting teachers in the effective delivery of lessons.

The initiative forms part of the Government’s broader commitment to improving the quality of education by addressing infrastructure and logistical challenges confronting schools.

The New Juaben South Municipal Assembly reaffirmed its commitment to supporting schools across the Municipality with the necessary resources to enhance teaching and learning and provide children with a better educational environment.
