The educational session took place during the group’s Missionary Mass Meeting at the Living Hope Society in Tegbi Ashiata, where participants were taken through key safety measures to help reduce risks associated with extreme weather conditions.

Facilitators from Keta NADMO emphasized the importance of staying alert during periods of heavy rainfall, windstorms, and thunderstorms. They also outlined practical steps such as clearing choked gutters to prevent flooding, securing roofing sheets, identifying safe shelters, and removing weak trees that could pose hazards during storms.

Fire safety was another major focus of the engagement, with participants advised on the proper handling and safe placement of gas cylinders to prevent domestic accidents.

The session also highlighted the heightened vulnerability of women and children during disasters. Participants were encouraged to take proactive roles in promoting safety within their communities and to support NADMO’s work by volunteering.

Keta NADMO expressed appreciation to Rev. Godson Kwabla Ocloo, Presiding Elder of the A.M.E. Zion Church, Keta District; Miss Aurelia Tudzi, District President of the W.H. & O.M.S.; and the leadership of the Society for the invitation and warm reception.

The organisation further encouraged churches, institutions, and various community groups—including fishermen, dressmakers, and hairdressers—to invite NADMO for similar awareness engagements, as part of ongoing efforts to build safer and more resilient communities.
