Amansie Central Assembly Empowers Persons with Disabilities with Equipment and Cash Support

The Amansie Central District Assembly has distributed equipment, cash and other forms of assistance to Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) under the 2026 Disability Fund to promote economic empowerment and improve their quality of life.

The distribution exercise, held at the forecourt of the District Assembly, brought together members of the disability community to receive updates on interventions implemented under the fund and benefit from various livelihood support initiatives.

The support forms part of the Assembly's ongoing commitment to improving the welfare of Persons with Disabilities through economic empowerment, educational assistance, caregiver support and healthcare interventions.

Beneficiaries received a range of equipment based on their individual livelihood needs, including refrigerators, deep freezers, sewing machines and fufu-making machines to enable them to establish or expand income-generating activities.

In addition to the equipment, some beneficiaries and caregivers received cash support to strengthen their businesses and improve their economic resilience.

The Assembly also used the 2026 Disability Fund to support the payment of medical bills, finance surgical procedures and provide other health-related interventions for beneficiaries requiring specialised medical care.

Addressing the gathering, Assembly officials reaffirmed their commitment to ensuring that Persons with Disabilities are not left behind in the district's development agenda, stressing that the interventions are intended to promote inclusion, self-reliance and sustainable livelihoods.

The Assembly further assured the disability community that it would continue to implement programmes that enhance the socio-economic well-being of vulnerable groups and expand support to more beneficiaries in the district.

The Amansie Central District Assembly called on residents to continue supporting its development agenda, expressing confidence that sustained collaboration would help improve the lives of Persons with Disabilities and accelerate inclusive development across the district.
