The road serves as a critical route for the haulage of sand and other construction materials and has long been a major concern for tipper truck drivers and nearby communities due to its poor condition, which resulted in delays and high vehicle maintenance costs.

The opening of the road will enhance efficiency in sand transportation and also expected to improve revenue mobilisation for the Municipal Assembly, as economic activity along the route increases.
