The site was handed over yesterday by the project consultants, FeDems Limited, to the contractors, Brata Company Limited, marking a significant milestone in the implementation of the government’s 24-hour economy agenda spearheaded by H.E. John Dramani Mahama, President of the Republic.

The proposed market project is expected to serve as a major commercial hub within the municipality, creating employment opportunities, boosting local trade, and stimulating economic growth. The initiative forms part of broader efforts to strengthen local economies through strategic infrastructure development and expanded business activity.

Speaking on the development, the Municipal Chief Executive for Birim Central, Hon. Solomon Brako Kusi, described the commencement of work as a major step toward transforming the municipality’s economic landscape.

According to him, the Assembly remains fully committed to supporting transformative projects that will improve infrastructure, enhance commercial activities, and uplift the living conditions of residents across the municipality.

The 24-Hour Economy Market is anticipated to contribute significantly to economic empowerment and increased productivity in the area once completed.
