Okere District Assembly Engages Traders on New 24-Hour Economy Market Project

The District Chief Executive (DCE), together with the management of the Okere District Assembly, has held a stakeholder engagement meeting with market women and traders to discuss plans for the demolition of the old market and the construction of a modern 24-hour economy market in the district.

The meeting provided an opportunity for Assembly officials to outline the vision, benefits, and implementation strategy for the proposed market project, which is aimed at improving trading conditions, stimulating economic activity, and creating a more conducive business environment for traders and residents.

During the engagement, the DCE assured traders that adequate measures had been put in place to ensure a smooth temporary relocation process to pave the way for construction works with minimal disruption to business operations.

Market women and traders were encouraged to cooperate with the Assembly, as the project is expected to deliver long-term economic benefits and modern infrastructure that will enhance commercial activities within the district.
