Speaking at the handing-over ceremony, Hon. Bagaman urged the Municipal Directorate of the Ghana Education Service (GES) to ensure the judicious and effective utilization of the desks. He emphasized that the initiative aligns with the vision of the administration led by President John Dramani Mahama to provide essential amenities that reduce challenges within the education sector, ease the burden on parents, and promote academic excellence.
The 600 dual desks are expected to ease classroom congestion and create a more conducive learning environment for pupils across the municipality.
Recognizing farming as the primary occupation of residents, the MCE also distributed 10 water pumping machines to enhance irrigation activities and boost food production. Beneficiary communities include Nyoglo, Libga, Zaazi, Moglaa, Bihinaayili, Chahi Yepalsi, Dinga, and Bunglung.
The irrigation support is aimed at strengthening dry-season farming, improving livelihoods, and ensuring food security within the municipality.
Receiving the desks on behalf of the Municipal Education Directorate, Alhaji Mohammed Abdul Majeed, Municipal Director of GES, expressed gratitude to the MCE for the timely intervention. He assured the Assembly of the Directorate’s commitment to ensuring the effective and efficient use of the desks to benefit pupils.
The initiative underscores the MCE’s dedication to community development and his ongoing efforts to improve living standards through strategic investments in education and agriculture across Savelugu.
