The presentation formed part of activities marking the 10th anniversary celebration of the health facility.
Mr Tetteh said a reliable electricity supply was essential to the effective operation of healthcare facilities, particularly in powering medical equipment and sustaining critical services during power outages.
He noted that electricity supported essential healthcare operations, including lighting, communication, clean water supply and the use of medical equipment for routine and emergency procedures.
The MP said the intervention would help minimise disruptions to healthcare delivery and improve the polyclinic’s capacity to provide essential services to residents of the Zenu community and surrounding areas.
He further pledged his support for plans to construct a maternity block with a theatre at the facility to strengthen maternal healthcare services.
Mr Tetteh also appealed to the Ghana Water Company Limited to address recurring water shortages in the community, particularly at the polyclinic, where a reliable water supply was crucial for maintaining hygiene and providing quality healthcare.
The Municipal Director of Health Services for the Kpone-Katamanso Municipality, Dr Esther Priscilla Biamah Danquah, also appealed for support towards the proposed maternity block project.
She said the project was expected to include a theatre, conference rooms and staff offices, adding that its completion would enhance the facility’s capacity to provide comprehensive maternal healthcare, manage obstetric emergencies and improve health outcomes for mothers and newborns.
Dr Danquah called on the Government, corporate organisations, development partners, individuals and other stakeholders to support the project to help address gaps in maternal healthcare delivery in the municipality.
For his part, the Medical Superintendent of the Zenu Polyclinic, Mr Derick Amofa Boateng, expressed appreciation to the MP for the donation, describing the power plant as an important intervention towards addressing the facility’s electricity challenges.
He also appealed to religious organisations, institutions and other stakeholders to support healthcare facilities in addressing their infrastructural and operational challenges.
