Ningo Prampram Assembly Completes Major Infrastructure Inspections, Projects Ready for Commissioning

Ningo Prampram District – A two-day monitoring exercise by the Ningo Prampram District Assembly has confirmed that several key infrastructure projects funded by the District Assembly Common Fund are complete and ready for handover.

The inspection team, led by District Chief Executive (DCE) Hon. Raphael Uriel Nartey, included district officials, auditors, budget analysts, development planners, environmental health officers, and representatives from the Ghana Education Service (GES) and Ghana Health Service (GHS).

Day one: Schools, health post and town park under review

Thursday, April 9, 2026 – The team first visited Otsebleku in the Mangotsonya electoral area, where a completed CHPS compound and a 3-unit staff apartment are ready for handover.

“We are satisfied with the project’s completion and will ensure its effective utilisation,” said Hon. Kwetey Kwei, Assembly Member for the area.

The team then moved to the Afienya cluster of schools, where a new 3-unit JHS block drew praise from PTA representatives and local officials. Hon. Edmund Botchway, Assembly Member for Afienya, commended the assembly’s focus on education.

At Dawhenya Town Park, a 1-storey, 6-unit classroom block is under construction. The contractor promised completion before the end of 2026 – welcome news for students from East Dawhenya, who currently risk crossing a highway to reach school.

Hon. Moses Nii Kutor, Assembly Member for North Dawhenya, pledged to monitor progress and ensure timely completion.

The day ended at Prampram Methodist cluster of schools, where a 12-unit ultra-modern toilet facility is complete and ready for GES handover. Hon. Nathan Nartey, Assembly Member for Upper Prampram, thanked the assembly for its commitment to school infrastructure.

Day two: More classroom blocks, health facilities and market project

On the second day, the team inspected:

· Lakpleku – A completed 3-unit classroom block with office complex, ready for handover.

· Someh – A finished CHPS compound and staff bungalow, set to boost healthcare delivery.

· Minya – A completed 3-unit classroom block with office complex.

· Old Ningo market – A ready-to-handover CHPS compound.

All projects were praised for their quality construction.

What’s next

Pending minor recommendations from the monitoring team, the facilities are expected to be commissioned within two weeks.

“We will prioritise projects based on community needs and expand coverage to all electoral areas before the end of 2026,” said DCE Hon. Raphael Uriel Nartey. “No area will be left behind.”

The DCE thanked the monitoring team, assembly members, and community stakeholders for their diligence and commitment to quality and timeliness. He assured the public that the assembly will continue working to improve infrastructure and services across the district.
